Looknivo Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026. Revision: 2026-10-16.1.
This policy covers the Looknivo app for iPhone and iPad, provided by Lokman Sahin ("Looknivo", "we"). It explains what data the app collects, how it is collected, every use of that data and every third party that receives it. It distinguishes processing on your device, processing on Looknivo's server and processing by independent AI providers.
Summary
- Face analysis happens on your device. Looknivo calculates every result on your iPhone or iPad with Apple Vision and fixed formulas. Your photo, face landmarks and measurements are not sent to Looknivo or to any AI service for analysis.
- Written care recommendations work offline. The app includes 250 guides in 10 languages, written in advance and reviewed before release. Twenty-two written plans, 26 routine templates, custom routines and plan progress also work on your device. Your goals and, if you have scanned, your latest on-device results select routines on your device; no AI service receives your goals or results, and no recommendation is generated while you use the app.
- Nothing is sent to a third-party AI service without your permission. At the end of onboarding, before the subscription screen, and again before the first AI try-on (a catalogue hairstyle or an AI look) if you have not allowed it, the app shows a permission screen titled "Share data with third-party AI?". It lists what will be sent, names who receives it and explains how it is used. Nothing is sent unless you tap Allow; Don't Allow sends nothing.
- AI try-ons send the photo you choose and the hairstyle or look you choose to Snapgen, which uses Google's Nano Banana image model.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location or advertising identifier. We do not sell data and do not track you across apps or websites.
- You can withdraw each permission and delete your data in Settings → Your data.
Data we collect, how we collect it and how we use it
| Data | How it is collected | How it is used | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photos you take or select | Camera or the system photo picker, only when you choose a photo | On-device face analysis; your private progress journal; an AI try-on only when you request one | Stays on your device, except the photo you choose for an AI try-on: Looknivo's server, Snapgen and Google, only after you tap Allow |
| Face landmark positions (76 points found by Apple Vision), an estimated hairline point, and the measurements, ratios, face and eye shapes and scores calculated from them | Calculated on your device from your scan photo | Showing your results and their drawings, your progress chart, and choosing related care guides on your device | Not shared; stored only on your device |
| Selected goals, hairstyle catalogue choice and try-on style | Chosen by you in the app | Personalizing routines, hairstyle suggestions and try-ons | Goals and the catalogue choice stay on your device; the try-on style travels with the try-on photo above |
| AI try-on images | Returned by the AI services | Shown to you and saved on your device; kept on Looknivo's server for up to 30 days | Not shared with anyone else |
| Random installation credential and a derived identifier | Generated on your device and stored in the Keychain | Verifying your subscription, credits and requests; preventing duplicate jobs and charges | Looknivo's server; RevenueCat receives the derived identifier |
| Purchase and subscription information | Apple In-App Purchase | Providing subscription access and credits | Apple and RevenueCat |
The written care library is included in the app, with steps, context, timing and cautions. Reading it and selecting routines need no text AI request. Routines, completed tasks, reminder times and app settings stay on your device. Looknivo has no user accounts and contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Your permission before any AI sharing
AI try-ons require permission. The permission screen appears at the end of onboarding, before the subscription screen and before any purchase. If you have not allowed it, it appears again when you first start a try-on from the Try-On Studio or from a results page, before photo upload or AI processing. App access requires an active subscription; purchasing access does not grant AI-sharing permission. It states what data will be sent, names every recipient, explains the purpose and retention, and asks you to confirm that you are at least 18 and that the photo shows only you. Only tapping Allow grants the permission; closing the screen or tapping Don't Allow sends nothing.
Reading this policy, completing onboarding or buying a subscription does not grant permission. If what is shared or who receives it changes, the app asks again; earlier answers do not cover a new disclosure. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings → Your data. Withdrawal stops new submissions for that purpose; a request already sent may finish.
1. Face data collected and its purpose
When you take or select your own adult portrait, Apple Vision processes the image on your iPhone or iPad to detect a face, check framing, expression and capture quality, and locate 76 face landmarks. Looknivo estimates the hairline from the colours above the forehead. From these points the app calculates proportions (for example facial thirds, eye spacing and classical reference ratios), a face shape and an eye shape, and scores them with fixed formulas. The app keeps your scan photo, the landmark positions and these results in its private local storage, so it can draw your results and track your progress, until you delete them. None of this is sent to Looknivo or to an AI provider.
Face data is used only for the results and try-ons you request and your personal progress history. Looknivo does not use it for identity verification, facial recognition, advertising, profiling across services, or model training. Scores are estimates of two-dimensional face geometry compared with classical reference proportions; they are not clinical advice, a scientific attractiveness score or a ranking against other people.
2. Third parties that receive data
| Recipient | Role | Data received | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Snapgen (snapgen.ai) | AI image service | The photo you choose and fixed instructions for the chosen hairstyle or look | Each AI try-on you request, after you allow try-on sharing |
| Nano Banana image model used by Snapgen | The same photo and instructions, through Snapgen | Each AI try-on you request, after you allow try-on sharing | |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Derived identifier and purchase information | When you buy, restore or check a subscription |
| Apple | In-App Purchase | Purchase information | When you buy or restore a subscription |
Equal protection. We share user data only with the third parties listed above, only for the purposes described in this policy, and only with third parties that provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy. For AI try-ons, Snapgen has confirmed to Looknivo that it deletes source photos and generated portraits within a maximum of 30 days, keeps no logs of this processing, deletes the relevant photos immediately at Looknivo's request, and applies equivalent data-protection obligations to its downstream providers, including Google.
2.1 Try-on sharing: Looknivo, Snapgen and Google
AI try-ons (catalogue hairstyles and AI looks) require permission. Only when you request a try-on, the face photo you choose and fixed styling instructions for the hairstyle or look you picked are uploaded by HTTPS to Looknivo and Snapgen (NanoBanana 2) to produce that image. Snapgen has confirmed to Looknivo that it uses Google's Nano Banana image model to process these requests. Google is therefore a downstream model provider for this processing. Your scores, landmarks and measurements are never part of a try-on request. The permission screen names Snapgen and Google and explains the upload before anything is submitted, and each try-on is confirmed again before it is sent.
The Looknivo server decodes and re-encodes the selected image before forwarding it, without copying its EXIF metadata. For clothing and color-palette try-ons, the selected image can show your full body, including your face, hands and feet; your fixed style and palette choices are also processed. The try-on request contains the normalized image, the fixed instructions for the chosen style and generation settings; it does not include your name, email address, Looknivo installation credential or Apple purchase receipt. The image itself still identifies its subject and is not anonymous. Snapgen also receives the server's network request and Looknivo's provider account credentials.
Snapgen has confirmed to Looknivo that both uploaded source photos and generated portraits are deleted within a maximum of 30 days. Images may be held temporarily during that period; they are not retained indefinitely. Snapgen has also confirmed that it does not keep logs for this portrait processing, that it deletes the relevant photos immediately when Looknivo sends a deletion request, and that equivalent data-protection obligations apply to its downstream providers, including Google, for this integration. These commitments apply to Looknivo's try-on integration; they are not a statement about every Google service. Snapgen's public privacy policy provides additional information about its service. Looknivo's own storage and deletion practices are described below. To request earlier provider deletion, contact Looknivo Support.
3. Storage and retention of face data
Local photos, face landmark positions, measurements, results, plan enrolments, pause history, routines, task completion and saved try-ons are stored in the app's private storage. There is no Looknivo account or cross-device history sync. Local records remain until you delete them; copies that you save or share outside Looknivo are controlled by their destination.
Looknivo's server stores a source photo while a try-on is queued or running. Source photos and request payloads are removed when a job completes or fails. Generated try-on images expire after 30 days. Snapgen's separate maximum 30-day retention for source photos and generated portraits is described in section 2.1. The service is configured for hosting in Frankfurt, Germany; AI providers process data in their own infrastructure, and Looknivo has not verified a fixed processing country for every provider.
For a server job, the 30-day period starts when the job is created. Local history has no automatic expiry. Looknivo does not include readable photo or measurement payloads in its application error logs. These local and server retention rules describe Looknivo's service; Snapgen's commitments are stated separately in section 2.1.
4. Deletion and withdrawal
Settings → Your data provides a switch for AI try-on sharing. Turning it off prevents new try-on submissions. Requests already transmitted may finish. Turning a switch on shows the permission screen again, and only Allow grants permission. An answer given to an earlier version of the permission screen is not treated as permission for a changed disclosure.
Settings → Delete server data removes your Looknivo server job payloads, source images and generated image files, including pending jobs. Late provider responses cannot recreate deleted results. This action is available without an active subscription. Deleting local data removes the app's local history and photos; local and server deletion are separate operations. Deletion or withdrawal does not cancel an Apple subscription. Provider deletion is handled through the separate request process below.
Minimal installation-linked job identifiers, request fingerprints and transaction/credit records remain to enforce request idempotency and prevent duplicate credits. They do not contain the source photo, raw landmarks, readable measurements or generated portrait. The current service has no automatic deletion schedule for these anti-duplication records.
Snapgen has confirmed to Looknivo that it deletes the relevant photos immediately when Looknivo sends it a deletion request. The in-app Delete server data control deletes Looknivo server data; it does not automatically send a deletion request to Snapgen. For help requesting deletion from a provider, use Looknivo Support. Do not send another copy of your face photo, an API key, password or full purchase receipt. We cannot identify all records at an independent provider or confirm removal without its assistance. A support request or withdrawal of permission does not by itself prove that a provider has erased existing copies.
5. Subscriptions and service identifiers
Apple and RevenueCat process subscriptions. Looknivo uses a random installation credential stored in Keychain and a derived identifier to verify access and maintain credit usage. RevenueCat receives the derived identifier and purchase information, not your face photo or measurement payload. Restoring a purchase restores eligible access; it does not restore local photos from another device. There are no external payment links or physical-goods purchases in Looknivo.
6. Device permissions, age and export
Camera access and adding photos to your photo library require system permission. Photo selection uses the system picker. You may decline AI sharing and still use on-device face analysis, local progress photos and comparisons. Settings lets you export your analysis, plan and routine history, and save/share buttons export only the photos you choose.
AI try-on submissions require an affirmative confirmation that you are at least 18 and the selected photo shows only you. Looknivo does not request a date of birth or identity document for this confirmation. You can decline and use local progress photos and comparisons without submitting them to an AI provider. Looknivo's AI features are intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has submitted data, contact support so we can help delete it.
7. Your rights, policy changes and contact
You may use the app's export, permission and deletion controls, or contact support about access, correction, deletion or other data rights available to you under applicable law. We may need enough information to locate the relevant records; do not disclose secrets or unnecessary photos. Your AI permission is not a waiver of privacy rights or a substitute for the protection the service must provide. A change to this page alone does not authorize a new category of data sharing.
